My Daily Skin Care Routine

I’ve been practicing self-care for myself and I can feel the benefits from doing so. My newest obsession is skin care. I suffered with acne for so long. There were tons of products that I kept buying, but honestly never used, or maybe used once or twice. The real issue was I didn’t use them consistently. I was constantly googling skin routines to find the perfect one for me, what I didn’t realize is that I should’ve just kept with one product and used it consistently. So back in March I started this skin care routine and used it for the whole month. It was great. I got one break out the entire month. I saw some photos from the beginning of the year and my face looked like sh*t. Excuse my language, but I couldn’t believe I walked around like that. I saw the difference with being consistent and what it did to my skin and I love it. I want to share with you some tips and products I’ve started using for it!

First thing I’d like to say is I drink plenty of water. It just helps my skin out so much. I cut back on drinking juice or pop. And I noticed a huge difference when I added at least a gallon of water a day to my normal routine. Just to let you know a gallon is ideal, but some days I missed the mark. You know what I’m learning; I can’t be perfect, and that’s ok.

Cleanse- Daily Routine

First thing first, I wash my hands to start my routine. Before cleansing I like to remove all makeup completely. I’m using a new product from Neutrogena Turmeric line, the Soothing Clear Jelly Make Up Remover. It’s infused with its main ingredient turmeric which is an antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory. It gently gets rid of dirt and makeup without leaving your skin feeling greasy or oily.

Moving on to the cleansing. I use the Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser foaming formula by Neutrogena. This foaming cleanser is great for my sensitive skin. It’s not harsh and it leaves my face feeling so soft. The foam cleanser is great for my acne-prone skin also. The key to cleansing is, you want the ingredients from the products you’re using to properly absorb in your skin. This product also helps remove all makeup without stripping your skin.

Moisturize- Daily Routine

I keep it simple for my daily routine, so once I’m done with cleansing I put on a moisturizer. The product I’m using now is Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin. My face feels so refreshed and looks naturally hydrated as well after I moisturize. This product is supposed to be used with the Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser for the best results. It’s a light weight moisturizer that is gentle for sensitive skin and won’t leave your face feeling greasy or looking shiny. What excites me the most is; it doesn’t contain any drying alcohol, so it won’t dry out your skin. Which is wonderful for me. No one wants to walk around with dried out skin.

Night Routine

Night Time Routine

For my night routine I repeat the steps from the daily routine with cleansing then I add my PM routine with The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Serum and The Inkey Retinol. Serums are products that provide concentrated nutrients, hydra-tors, and antioxidants. The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Serum pulls water form the air and plumps it in your skin and keeps you hydrated even while you sleep. I then add my moisturizer before adding the retinol. Retinol is used to speed up cell turnover, causing your body to create fresher, smoother, and less-wrinkled skin over time. I typically do this night time routine every other day. I was told my sales rep at Sephora that retinol can dry out your skin. He told me to make sure I keep my face moisturized. So I do.

The last thing I add is the Neutrogena Soothing Clear Turmeric Mist for a finishing touch. I love love love this product. This mist refreshes and hydrates your face without clogging pores or leaving behind any sticky residue.

I’m glad to have found a skin care routine that I can enjoy and stick with. All of these products are somewhere between $10 and $12 each. So they’re really inexpensive. The Neutrogena products are found in some common stores like Walmart and Target. And I purchased my PM Routine from Sephora. I hope these tips and products help you to create a find a skin care routine that works for you. Comment below to tell me what you’re using.
